As Congress begins its August recess and members return to their
districts, health care reform is on the line and one of its central
pillars — a public health care option — is in jeopardy.
The best way you can support meaningful health care reform is to get your
Representative to commit to voting against any health care reform bill
that does not include a public option that is available nationwide on day
one and that is accountable to Congress and the voters.
Although we have heard a lot of supportive rhetoric from progressives
about the public option, only fourteen of them have drawn a line in the
sand and committed to voting against any health care reform bill without a
public option that is available nationwide from day one and is accountable
to Congress and the voters. We need others to join them.
Ask your member of Congress to take the pledge today!
